The fall season is upon us and we are gearing up for what hopes to be a great season.
The following information below will give you a basic outline of the fall and upcoming events. There are several changes we are making for the spring and into next year based on feedback we received.
Ø Practice will not start until after the teams are formed this season.
o While we will still have late sign ups and adds to teams, this will help us better ensure there are enough kids on each team and where we have too many kids be able to form additional teams.
Ø Weekly email’s which have been going to the coaches only will now be emailed to everyone. These emails contain on goings with the league, upcoming events, and other information.
- August 27th - Tier Testing (rained out)
- September 1st - U9/10 (Tier Testing at local complexes)
- September 5th - Teams formed and rosters sent out
- September 6th - First Practice
- September 17th - First Game
- September 14th - League Schedule posted (on or before)
- All games complete prior to Thanksgiving Holiday week
Ø If you have signed up to coach, asst, be team Mgr or team mom/dad we need your help Saturday with the tier testing
Ø If you can volunteer to coach, asst, help with the team by being a team mom or dad, part time coach, etc…please go into your kids’ registration right now and make sure to sign up.
o Please help support your kids team, come be part of their activity, as a kid it’s always great to have mom and/or dad involved.
Ø Division Directors are needed at all regions boys and girls.
o The division directors are responsible to helping to support the forming of teams, making sure communications get to the coaches each week (lessons plans and notes the SHAL director sends out) working with the site professional staff to helping to manage any issues, etc…
Ø Bryan Carlton will not be the VP3 for the SHAL program, he has transitioned to the competitive side as his kids are now all out of SHAL.
Ø We are pleased to announce the new VP3 as John Carse from Friendswood. He will be around to meet everyone at the sites.
We are looking forward to a great fall and seeing all the kids back on the field.
